Ambrx, Inc., announced today the appointment of Bruce Kimmel, Ph.D. as Vice President, Therapeutic Applications. Dr. Kimmel brings great scientific strengths and therapeutic protein experience to a strategic leadership role at Ambrx, where he will advance application of the company's unique capability to incorporate chemistry into biosynthetic proteins to create the next generation of protein medicines. He has made many contributions through a distinguished career that includes previous positions as Sr. Director, Protein Therapeutics at Diversa Corp, Director, Functional Genomics at Amgen, and Director of the Drosophila Genome Project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and conducted postdoctoral work at UCSF.
