In January 2007, Ambrx signed a research collaboration, license and commercialization agreement with a major pharmaceutical company. The agreement calls for Ambrx to utilize its proprietary ReCODE™ technology to develop multiple, protein-based therapeutic product candidates

Our Pipeline
Ambrx’s initial efforts have focused on optimizing the performance of existing protein therapeutics. The first product candidate, a mono-PEGylated human growth hormone, is currently in preclinical development. In addition, we are currently working on optimizing several other protein therapeutics that represent large markets and significant unmet medical need. We will commercialize these products by establishing alliances with strategic partners.
Our Capabilities
In parallel with advancement of our internal product candidates, we are applying our ReCODE™ technology to advance the pipeline needs of strategic partners. Key elements of this strategy include the development of flexible and versatile approaches to optimize antibodies and other therapeutic classes. Our solutions in these areas have broad application across multiple targets and therapeutic areas.
Strategic collaborations are an important element of our business strategy. In our strategic collaborations, we typically seek up-front license fees, collaborative research funding, technology access payments, milestone payments for significant developments and royalties on product sales in exchange for the commercial licenses for the products developed in the collaboration.
